3 Simple ways to Maximize your Motivation.

What’s one of the biggest hurdles to your workout success? Staying motivated. We all fall into that trap from time to time. However, there are some simple ways you can maximize your motivation.

  1. Variety is the spice of life. Find new exercises to add to your routine. If you walk, add some swimming to the mix. If you lift weights, add running to your routine. Do you play an organized team sport, find some time for quiet walks. Simple yes, but effective.
  1. Maximize your workout. Adding intervals will amp up the benefits, while shortening the time you need to work out. A shorter workout helps to maintain focus and motivation, while at the same time interval training increases your health benefits. Less time. Greater rewards. Fantastic.
  1. Become a kid again. Remember when exercise meant having a great time? We didn’t do it to stay fit, we did it because it was fun. Remember tag in the back yard with friends, open gym time, bike rides and swimming. No adult supervision, just kids having a great time. The health benefits were incidental. Bring fun back into your workouts. Join a softball team. Find an open gym night near you. Get together with friends for weekly bike rides. It doesn’t have to be serious competition, just some good, clean fun.
